Klypp PE turns a deal team's calls, emails, and CIMs into one knowledge graph

A mid-market PE deal team sources ninety CIMs a quarter, runs a dozen live deals, and talks to bankers all day, and the firm's knowledge of all of it lives in inboxes and people's heads. Klypp PE is an ontology of the deal operation: every target, banker, call, and document as a connected entity in a knowledge graph, deployed inside the firm's own cloud tenancy.

Ninety-three CIMs, one close

A mid-market deal team sources around ninety CIMs a quarter and closes one. The whole business is picking the right five to pursue, and that decision is made under time pressure with gut feel: associates skim, partners spot-check, and the mandate fit of what got passed is never really known. At two to four analyst-hours per CIM, triage alone burns as much as 1,400 hours a year.

The deeper problem is where the firm's knowledge lives. Banker intelligence is tribal, and it walks out the door with whoever held the relationship. The signal that decides a deal, a rollover structure or a moving EBITDA bridge, emerges across a dozen touches, three team members, and two channels, and nobody holds the whole thread. And because the edge is proprietary information, multi-tenant software is a non-starter.

An ontology of the deal

Klypp PE treats the deal operation the way an ontology treats an institution: everything the team touches, funds, mandates, CIMs, targets, bankers, calls, meetings, emails, becomes a connected entity in one knowledge graph, linked by what actually happened. The firm's knowledge stops living in inboxes and heads.

The graph works the top of the funnel first: inbound CIMs are scored against the active mandate with a brief already drafted, so partner attention starts at the strongest fits. Every live target carries a synthesized story across all touches and channels, surfacing what no single call shows, and every banker relationship carries its own record of deals shown, hit rate, and behaviour patterns, so coverage becomes measurable instead of tribal.

The Monday brief writes itself and arrives by seven, with drafted actions gated on partner approval. And the whole system deploys single-tenant into the firm's own Azure or GCP tenancy, because it can only hold the firm's most sensitive information if that information never leaves the building.

  • Deal sourcing: inbound CIMs scored against the active mandate, briefs drafted

  • A live target as a cumulative entity: the multi-channel timeline and the synthesized story

  • Monday synthesis: the week's deal flow, patterns, and drafted actions in one brief

Monday writes itself

Deal selection improves where it matters most, at the top of the funnel: the strong fits arrive scored and briefed, and $1.5M of at-risk value sits visible on the deal health board instead of dying quietly. Cross-call red flags, customer concentration, a moving bridge, surface from the graph before they surface in diligence, and at $25M to $75M equity checks, one deal pursued or avoided on better information outweighs the platform's entire cost.

The team's hours move up the value chain. Triage that consumed up to 1,400 analyst-hours a year is replaced by mandate-scored intake; the Sunday-night compilation is replaced by a synthesis that arrives Monday at seven; and the deal team's senior hours go into judgment. The firm's deal knowledge becomes an institution: a departing associate no longer takes the banker relationships and deal context with them.

  • 94/100

Mandate fit, scored on every inbound CIM with the gaps to validate named.

  • 31 touches

Synthesized into a single banker profile, with hit rate and behaviour patterns.

  • $25–75M

The equity checks at stake; one better decision outweighs the platform's cost.
